In Loving Memory

Cheryl Ann Sekot Parks, 64, passed away suddenly on July, 11, 2025 at her home on Caceras Circle in Salinas, Ca.

She was born October 26, 1960 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended Sandia High School, then got her CNA from Romie Lane Convalescent Hospital. She worked for HSBC in fraud disputes/customer service. Her best and favorite job was Mother, Wife, and especially Grandmother.

Cheryl loved to gather women together and talk about God. She had several hobbies over the years like jewelry making and resin work. Her ongoing hobby was cleaning house and loving her pets. Her dog Cass, her cat Handsome Henry, and granddogs Orco and Macy, all knew her love well.

Her passion though was love.  She loved with her whole heart and it’s what drew people to her. They knew they could confide in her and she would spark conversations with anyone, anywhere.  She was such a strong person in people’s lives that many called her Mom and she loved them all as if they were her children.

She is survived by her husband Albert John Parks III, sons Albert John Parks IV and his wife Kristy, Chris Parks and his wife Miriam, grandchildren Sierra, Madison, Bailey, Melinda and Evan John. She is also survived by her brother Fred Sekot and sister Shelly Allebach and her mom Ricki Sekot. She had countless extended family members, particularly her best friends Marsha Casteel and Lisa Hoelscher. She loved all of her extended family, and they loved her. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Johnny Sekot by just 13 days, her mother Sharon Pearce, Papa Joe Pearce, and Wayne Hickey.

Her Celebration of Life will be at The Father’s House August 2, 2025 at 11am.

Healey Mortuary

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
