Roman Lorenzo Tafoya

Roman Lorenzo Tafoya, 79, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on July 23, 2025. Born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Roman was a respected bank executive and a proud Army Vietnam veteran.
He attended Southern Colorado State College, which laid the foundation for his successful career in banking. Roman was a man who loved to engage with his community through volunteering, both within local organizations and at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where he was a devout member. His commitment to service was a testament to his character, always ready with a joke or a story about his younger days, and maintaining a positive outlook that uplifted everyone around him.
He is survived by his loving family: brother Gerald Tafoya; sister Mary Baros; daughters Lorraine Lucero and Dawn Tafoya; grandchildren Joshua Dominguez, Keira Barker, Kaitlyn Barker, and Kiersten Barker; and great-grandchildren Giovanni Dominguez, Antonio Dominguez, and Mianna Dominguez. Roman was preceded in death by his mother Anita Tafoya, brothers Bud Medina and Chano Baros, sister, Tommy Tafoya, and son Lawrence Tafoya.
All Veterans Funeral & Cremation Services in Colorado Springs, CO, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Roman's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew him as a man who made a significant impact on his community and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
A Rosary, followed by a Mass and reception, will be held in his honor at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Thursday, August 14, 2025, beginning at 9:15 AM. A graveside service with full military honors will take place on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, where Roman will be laid to rest.
