Marsha Karen (Kennedy) Foryt
October 13th, 1953 - July 31st, 2025
In Loving Memory
Marsha Karen (Kennedy) Foryt died 7/31/2025 at age 71 after living with dementia for many years. She was lovingly cared for by the care teams at Friends Homes West, Abbottswood and Authoracare Hospice in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Marsha was born October 13, 1953, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to her parents, Robert (Bob) Paul, Kennedy and Bonnie Lee Hatch.
The family moved to Rochester, NY after Bob got a job with Eastman Kodak Co. Marsha grew up in Rochester and after graduation from Greece Olympia High School in 1971, Marsha attended Highland Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1974. She worked as the head nurse in open heart surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester until 1993. In 1975, Marsha worked in the operating room on the open-heart surgery procedures on Hollywood Sy-Fy star, Rod Serling, Director of The Twilight Zone. Marsha met and married Thomas Francis Foryt November 28, 1992, and moved to Kernersville, North Carolina in 1993. She worked in the operating room at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, became a Case Manager for Jefferson-Pilot, for QualChoice of North Carolina and Blue/Partners Medicare.
Marsha loved life. She worked hard and played hard, loved all her cats and dogs, Vagabond, Blacky, Grayboy, Dusty, Callie, Sparky, Zeus and Brodie. Marsha loved to travel which took her to the Caribbean, Paris, Cape Town South Africa and Dubai, UAE. While in South Africa, Bob made arrangements for her to spend a day with Dr. Christiaan Barnard, South African Cardiac Surgeon who performed the world’s first human heart transplant. Marsha loved her neighbors, friends, colleagues and the Buffalo Bills! She was fortunate to see them play at the 1991 SUPER BOWL vs the NY Giants. She never forgot that game, that opportunity or Dr. Hicks for making that happen!
Marsha was pre-deceased by Thomas and her parents, Bonnie and Bob. She is survived by her brother, Michael, sister, Marta, step-daughter, Sara (Foryt) Agarwal, step-son, Tobin, sister-in-law, Debbie, nephews, Jerad (Victoria, great-niece, Quinn, great-nephew, Owen), Derrik (Kelley, great-nephew, Caleb, great-niece, Eisley) and several cousins.
