Stephen "Steve" Arn Miller
January 1st, 1942 - July 30th, 2025
**Obituary for Stephen "Steve" Arn Miller**
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Stephen "Steve" Arn Miller, who left us on July 30, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on January 1, 1942, in Napoleon, Ohio, Steve's journey through life was marked by warmth, generosity, and a deep commitment to his family and community.
Steve was a proud graduate of Napoleon High School and went on to earn his degrees from Denison University and the Illinois College of Optometry. His dedication to service extended beyond education; he served with honor as a Captain in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1973 and continued as a member of the Air National Guard until 1986. Following his military service, Steve was in private practice alongside Gary C. Simpson, where he served his patients with kindness and expertise until his retirement in 2013.
He was a loving father to his daughters, Liana (Don) Montgomery and Julia (Larry) Fisher. Steve also cherished the bonds he shared with his sister, Barb (Rex) Walker, as well as his niece and nephew, Kristen and Mark. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Heidi, Brandon, Conor, Caithe, Caelie, Cian, and Cayden, who will forever remember him for his playful spirit and nurturing heart. Steve was preceded in death by his adored wife, Bonnie Blech Miller, and his beloved parents, Edna and Lewis Miller.
Steve was a man of many passions; he loved photography, found joy in singing in the church choir, and relished the time spent working on his computer. His sense of humor and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Whether he was brightening a day with a witty remark or lending an ear to a friend in need, Steve’s generous spirit was a guiding light for those fortunate to know him.
A memorial service will be held by invitation only, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Tucson Breakfast Lions Club, supporting vital vision services.
As we celebrate the life of this remarkable man, let us carry forward the kindness and humor that Steve shared so freely. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts and minds.
