Mary D’Angelo, age 102, of Sewell, NJ passed away peacefully on August 1st, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Mary was born to Joseph and Rosaria Fanelli, on April 3rd, 1923, in Philadelphia. She married the love of her life, Edward D’Angelo, on February 26th, 1944, and they raised three daughters.

Mary lived a long and remarkable life defined by her unwavering devotion to family, her spirited personality, and her deep love for tradition. She was the cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence lit up every gathering.

A proud sports fan, Mary’s loyalty never wavered from her beloved Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State football. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and game days were a family event in her home. Sundays were sacred, not only for church but for the cherished tradition of Sunday dinners—where the smell of her cooking filled the air, and her table was a place of laughter, love, and lively conversation.

Mary was the adored grandmother to five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, each of whom will forever treasure her guidance, warmth, and humor. Her stubborn streak—always paired with a twinkle in her eye—was one of her defining traits. Friends and family remember her fondly for her signature phrase, “I don’t know,” often delivered with a knowing smile that suggested she might have known more than she let on.

She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, generosity, and family unity that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Bernadette (Walter) Chambers and Maryellen (Roger) Macartney; Son-in-law, Raymond Karlowicz; her five grandchildren, Raymond (Reagan), Kristen (Anthony), Elise (Adam) Alexa (Jacob), Gillian (Mark); her great-grandson, Asher and her caregiver, Angel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward; her daughter, Patricia Karlowicz; her sisters Margaret, Rose, Florence and brother Nicholas as well as her friends and relatives that have gone before her.

All of those she loved and touched deeply. Please join us celebrating her life Monday morning August 11th, 2025, between 9:45 a.m.-11:45 a.m. at The Church of the Holy Family in Sewell NJ. Funeral mass will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow to St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Mary’s name to The Church of the Holy Family in Sewell, NJ.

As we say goodbye, we hold onto the words that capture her enduring spirit:

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”
