We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Marilyn Rae Stahl, 77, of West Deptford, New Jersey on July 29, 2025. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the love of her family.

Marilyn was born in Sarver, PA to John Stahl and Helen (nee Bowersox) Stahl.

Marilyn worked for many years at the Sheraton Hotel in Philadelphia, PA. She was named employee of the year on more than one occasion. She loved working with people and formed fast friendships with many of those who she came into contact with. She had a great sense of humor, wit and was always helping people.

Marilyn loved the Lord and was an active member of Living Waters Bible Church in Mt Royal, NJ. She often invited friends to attend church with her and would arrange taking carloads of her “keenager sisters” to church luncheons.

She was a resident of the Shepherd’s Farm community and enjoyed socializing with her friends, playing bingo and shuffleboard. She loved all animals and rescued many of them during her lifetime. She would often dog sit for friends and family. She was known as “the dog whisperer” to many people.

For Marilyn, her family was her world and she loved spending time with each of them. She was deeply loved and loved deeply her children, Brad (Tina), Denise (Barry) and Sabrina (Russ). She carried this love into the next generation. Her grandchildren, Hannah, Ryan (Kaylynne), Spencer, Corey, Kelly and Jason were her pride and joy. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and Bah who was always there for her family, offering support, wisdom and unconditional love.

Marilyn was welcomed into Heaven by her sisters, Jeanne and Barb who she missed dearly. She leaves behind her loving brother, John (Diane), sister, Sandie (Jerry), several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Gone from our sight but never from our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date when our hearts begin to heal.

McGuinness Funeral Homes - Woodbury

We have served the Woodbury community since 1951, when our founder, James A. McGuinness, opened our first funeral home. He knew the importance of families having a trustworthy, local funeral home to help them memorialize their lost loved ones and navigate grief. Our beautiful funeral home in Woodbury was originally built in the late 1700s, and has since been rebuilt to honor its original charm and comfortable, warm feel. Once you walk through our doors, you become family....
