Patricia Joy Parren

Patricia Joy Parren (Reese), a devoted wife and loving mother passed away at MUSC in Orangeburg, SC surrounded by family on July 31, 2025. Born on April 29, 1950 in Elmira, NY to Boyd and Ennis(Ashdown) Reese.

She graduated from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY in 1970. She was a registered nurse for 35 years. She worked at St. Joseph’s hospital in Syracuse, NY from 1970 to 1972. She then moved to Sidney, NY and worked at “The Hospital” in Sidney, NY until her retirement in 2005. She worked in the labor and delivery unit until the unit closed in 1987. She helped deliver and cared for over a thousand babies and mothers. She then worked in the medical and ICU units where she cared for thousands of patients. She spent her retirement years caring for puppies and kittens. She was a member of the Town of Bowman beautification committee. Her hobbies included arts, crafts, and photography. She loved making gifts and cards for others. She encouraged and attended her daughters and granddaughter with their dance lessons and dance recitals.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years Leonard Parren of Bowman, SC, her daughters Nicole Parren, Karri Parren and granddaughter Elizabeth Parren all of Bowman, SC. She is also survived by her sister Mary White of Pine City, NY, her brother James (Bonnie) Reese of Pine City, NY. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 13 cats.

She was predeceased by her parents Boyd and Ennis Reese.

Funeral cremation services are with Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services in Ladson, SC.
