Michael "Mike" Joseph Scully

Michael "Mike" Joseph Scully, 83, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Syracuse, New York, passed away on July 21, 2025.

Born on June 14, 1942, in Syracuse, NY, Mike proudly served in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War, with part of his service dedicated to protecting the Aleutian Islands in Alaska.

A brilliant innovator, Mike was awarded 20 patents for electronic products and processes—an accomplishment he held with deep pride. He earned an associate degree from Cayuga Community College (formerly Auburn Community College) and began his professional career at Xerox in Rochester, NY, Emerson Electronics in St. Louis, MO, later continuing his work with AMP Electronics in Harrisburg, PA. His passion for technology and invention left a lasting mark on the industry.

Mike was known for his sharp intellect, independent spirit, and quiet wit. He deeply valued his family and maintained meaningful connections throughout his life.

He is survived by his two sons: Daniel Scully of Middletown, PA, his wife Angel, and their son Cameron; and Kevin Scully of Glendale, AZ, his wife Sharon, and their daughter Alyssa. He is also survived by his two sisters, Joanne Scully of Sodus Point, NY, and Marie Scully of Worcester, MA; his brother, Pat Figary of Dover, DE; and his niece, Celeste Ruberti of Los Angeles, CA, with whom he remained in close contact.
