Bonnie K Palzer

Bonnie passed away at home surrounded by family on a beautiful summer day. She fought a wicked battle against metastatic breast cancer.

Bonnie was born in Oakland, CA to  parents Robert “Bob” and Joette “Jody” Palzer. During Bonnie’s childhood she lived in El Cerrito, CA, Ashland and Portland, OR. 

Bonnie graduated from The Evergreen State College with an interest in Biology and healthcare. She became a Registered Nurse in 2008 and worked at Legacy Emanuel Hospital for 17 years. Her roles included charge nurse, nurse manager, and case manager. She was committed to helping patients and staff with her calm and caring manner. 

Bonnie was happiest outdoors by water. She loved to paddle, fish, rock hound, metal detect, and hunt for treasure on beautiful lakes, rivers, and oceans. She had a soft heart for all animals whether they were fury, slimy, or shelled. Ernie, Bailey, Maisie, Jimmy, Peaches, and Leo all loved Bonnie. 

Bonnie was a loyal friend, a wonderful daughter, the best wife, and an overall rad person to have on this planet. She will be fiercely missed. 

She is survived by mother Jody (neé Cairns) and wife Nancy Dickison both of Portland, OR, Aunt Pam Agim (Ziya) of Arlington, VA and Uncle Tom Palzer of Two Rivers, WI, nieces Annabelle and Louisa Jurus of Bedford, NH, and predeceased by father Bob of Ashland, OR. 

A celebration of life is planned for January 11 at McMenamins Edgefield.
