Mildred Ann Rickell was born in Cody, Wyoming to Mildred Peterson Rickell and George Frederick Rickell. Ann spent her early years in Cody and graduated from high school in 1955. She then moved to Denver to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, attending nursing school at the University of Denver. While attending DU, Ann met Charley Brown and they were married in December of 1959. Ann then discovered her passion for geriatrics and devoted 25 years as an administrator at The Argyle in Northwest Denver.

Ann was an avid reader, cherished time in her garden and loved gatherings with family and friends on her patio. Known for her warm spirit, she never met a stranger and was a loyal friend to all.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Charley) Brown, and her beloved dog, Pipp. She is survived by her brother, Larry; her son, Stephen (Marie); her daughter, Kellie Cimino (Jim); and her granddaughter, Rylie Cimino.

In lieu of flowers, Ann requested that donations be made in her honor to the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado.

Honoring her wishes, there will be no public memorial service, but a private family service will be held at a later date.
