"The love of a family is life's greatest blessing"

In Loving Memory of Mary Louise Ruiz (Perez)

Sunrise: October 12, 1946, Sunset: August 2, 2025

Mary Louise Ruiz (Perez), age 78, of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully in her hometown of Denver. Born to Mike and Virginia Perez, Mary was a Denver native whose life was defined by love, strength, and unwavering devotion to family.

A graduate of Annunciation High School, Class of 1964, Mary dedicated her early career to serving her community through her work with School District 50 as a bus driver and bus aide. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her professional life—Mary was a cornerstone of her family, helping raise and care for siblings, grandchildren, countless nieces, nephews, and friends. Her home was always open, her heart always full, and her motto was simple yet powerful: Family First.

Mary was the beloved mother of Dina Marie Ruiz and Daniel Michael Ruiz (Luciana-Shana Ruiz), and a proud grandmother to Richard Montoya (Christina), Ryan Montoya, Alexis Ruiz, Isaiah Ruiz, and bonus grandchild David Ortiz. She also cherished her great-grandchild, Manta Virginia Montoya.

She is survived by her loving siblings: Theresa Agado (Arnie), Beatrice Ceja (Fred), Pearl Archuleta (Henry), Michelle Martinac (Frank), Michael Perez (Valarie), and Smiley Perez (Nancy). Mary was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Danny Ruiz and daughter Virginia Manuela Ruiz.

Mary found immense joy in life’s simple pleasures - reading, storytelling (especially her unforgettable ghost stories), and entertaining with her signature warmth. Her focus was always on the countless family gatherings, filled with laughter, love, and the irresistible aroma of her cooking. Mary was a top chef in her own right, known for preparing meals that could feed an army. Her beans and rice, legendary fried chicken, and unforgettable potato salad were staples at every celebration. To those who knew her, food will never taste the same without her loving touch.

Above all, Mary’s heart belonged to her family. She adored her children, Dina and Daniel, and poured endless love into her grandchildren—Richard, Ryan, Alexis, Isaiah, and bonus grandson David—as well as her great-granddaughter Manta. Her bond with her siblings was equally strong, rooted in deep affection and lifelong support. Mary’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she nourished—both in spirit and in soul—and in the cherished memories she created around every table she filled. Mary faced her illness with remarkable strength and determination, fighting courageously until the very end.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6th from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM

at The MAC Center3295 W 72nd Ave Ste A, Westminster, CO 80030

Mary’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her life was a testament to the power of love & FAMILY!
