CATHERINE ANNE BENAVIDEZ DIED OF CANCER ON JULY 28TH, 2025, IN HER HOME UNDER THE CARE OF HER LOVING HUSBAND AND BROTHER IN TUCSON, AZ.

Catherine Anne Benavidez, born on December 8th, 1971, in Fairfax, VA, lived her life like a masterful composition - layered, lyrical, and full of unexpected harmonies. Her final note came peacefully, surrounded by love and memory, leaving behind a song that continues in the hearts of those who knew her.

Raised by Charles A. Favor and Barbara O. Favor, Catherine carried forward their spirit, Charles's quiet wisdom and Barbara's boundless grace. Their passing in 2011 and 2023, respectively, marked sorrowful transitions in her melody, but never silenced her resolve.

Her first marriage to Michael Benavidez was a gentle harmony - two lives joined in a rich, resonant partnership until his passing on July 6th, 2012. Though their time together ended too soon, the echoes of their love remain part of her life's arrangement.

In later years, Catherine found love again with Shay Denniston, who survives her. Their duet brought new layers of meaning and depth, a rhythm that grounded her in peace and laughter. Together, they composed a life marked by partnership, courage, and shared dreams.

In her journey through recovery, Catherine discovered a second family - friends who saw her light during the darkest times and reflected it back with honesty and love. They reminded her, again, how profoundly valuable her time, her advice, and her very presence were. Their chorus of support sang alongside hers, creating harmonies of healing, hope, and enduring gratitude. These relationships were a powerful reprise - evidence that the music she gave freely came back to her, fuller and deeper.

She is also survived by her brother, Phillip (Natasha) Favor, whose steady harmony supported her through every key change; and her cherished niece and nephew, Gwendolyn and Carson - each a bright note in her extended chorus.

Whether humming along with nature, lending her voice to those in need, or simply sitting in stillness, Catherine made space for the quiet verses that often go unsung. Her empathy and intuition turned ordinary moments into unforgettable refrains.

Catherine's legacy plays on through love shared, lessons taught, and kindness quietly sown. Her arrangements may have reached its final cadence, but her tune will linger - an encore in every heart she touched.
