Anne Scott Greer 81, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 4, 2025 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Blackwater, VA to the late Charles and Rena Scott. Anne was a graduate of Blackwater High School in the class of 1962. She worked for Eastman Chemical Company for over 25 years before her retirement in 1997. Anne was an avid seamstress and especially enjoyed quilting. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Verlin Greer; son, Robert Kevin Greer; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Vivian Greer; brothers, Bill Scott and wife Manie, and Leroy Scott and wife Elizabeth; sister, Virginia Scott Berry and husband C.A. Berry Jr.; brothers-in-law, Tommy Lawson, Elmer Powers, and Harold Legg; nieces, Sharon Reeves, Tammy Nichols, and Kimberly Marcus; nephew, David Berry; great- nephews, Jacob and Joshua High.
Survivors include her brother, Loyde Scott and wife Helen; sisters, Betty Jo Lawson, Ruth Powers, Sue Legg, Bea Carter and husband Dean, and Brenda Scott; brother-in-law, Darrell Greer and wife LaDonna; sister-in-law, Carolyn McDonald; special daughters, Christine Kelly and Sherry Passmore; granddaughter, Jessica Powell; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Brandon Ferren and Bro. Wayne Scott officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, August 8, 2025 at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Brad Scott, Lowell Scott, Holton Carter, Caleb Scott, Casey Legg, Johnny Berry, and Austin Scott. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
