James "Jim" William Lamb
August 21st, 1939 - July 29th, 2025
James William Lamb was born August 21, 1939 to Erwin P. Lamb and Amma Lee (Young) Lamb in Chattanooga, TN. He was raised in Louisville KY where he attended Shawnee High School. Jim loved many sports, especially basketball and football. It was a high school football injury that later resulted in the removal of one kidney.
At the University of Louisville he received his BA, majoring in Chemistry. At UL he joined the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity. During his Presidency of the TKE’s Ronald Reagan was invited to campus (he was also a TKE) and he accepted the invitation. Meeting him was a great high point of Jim’s college years.
Jim met and married Jo Anne Jagers. They had two children, Bryan James Lamb and Kimberly Joyce Lamb. Jo Anne died in 2012 and in 2015 Jim married Jean Becker. They were able to do some traveling and visiting friends and relation until Jim became too ill to travel.
Jim was employed by General Electric for 18 years and then went on to manage several electrical Lighting companies in California. He retired to Sun City Grand in Surprise, Arizona, where he lived until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Amma Lamb and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Jean Becker; his son Bryan Lamb and wife Liz; his daughter Kimberly Emerson and husband Eric; and his two grandsons, Kyle Emerson and Ryan Emerson.
In Lieu of flowers Jim wanted gifts in his memory to go to Orphan Grain Train Phoenix in care of the family.
