Robert "Bob" Kevin LeVasseur
August 20th, 1950 - August 3rd, 2025
Proud Grampy
Robert (Bob) Kevin LeVasseur Sr., 74, beloved husband of the late Dianne Marie LeVasseur, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025, with family by his bedside. Born on August 20, 1950, in Framingham, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Harriet (Guillmette) Ignacio and the only father he ever knew, Manuel Ignacio.
A devoted husband, father, and proud “Grampy,” Bob was the ultimate family man. He married the love of his life, Dianne (Silvia) LeVasseur, just after she graduated high school, and together they shared 40 years of marriage. He was a loyal, hard-working provider who took great pride in caring for his family. For over four decades, Bob worked as a forklift driver at Holt & Bugbee in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, before retiring in 2011 due to health reasons.
Family was the center of Bob’s world. After the passing of his wife, he stepped more fully into the role of both parents, doing everything he could to be present for the important milestones in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives. From weddings and graduations to sporting events and everyday moments, he never missed a chance to show up. He would save for months and plan carefully just to make it happen. In his later years, he moved to Kentucky to be near his sons and continued to deepen his relationship with all three of his children and his grandchildren, building lasting memories and leaving behind a legacy of love, presence, and dedication.
Bob’s happy place was Disney World. He visited many times in the later years of his life, building treasured memories with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. He especially loved Snow White, his favorite Disney princess, and never lost the joy and magic he felt in the parks. One of his most cherished memories was his final trip at age 72, where he was still riding roller coasters and beaming with excitement as he met Snow White once more. Those moments were a testament to his youthful heart and his love for making memories with family.
Known for his warm personality and ability to connect with anyone, Bob truly never met a stranger. He loved New England sports, especially the Red Sox, and could always be counted on to talk about the latest news or cheer on his team. He enjoyed seafood, especially steamers and lobster, and had a special place in his heart for his dream car, which he was able to make a reality: a blue convertible Mustang. His two chihuahuas, Lily and Lulu, were his constant companions and “babies” in his later years.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Robert LeVasseur Jr. and his wife, Robin of Nicholasville, KY; daughter, TerryAnn Bowen and her husband, Jacob of Merrimack, NH; and son, Shawn LeVasseur and his wife, Christen of Lancaster, KY; sister-in-law, Donna Tevepaugh; and grandchildren, Troy Zaher, Brandon Zaher and his wife, Isabella, Cassondra Orevitz and her husband, Ben, Allorah Bowen, Julianna Bowen, Trason Bowen, Jacob LeVasseur and his wife, Jacquline, Devin LeVasseur, Sierra Payero, Justin Williams, Charles Burton, Destiny LeVasseur, Hayley LeVasseur, Shelby LeVasseur, and Shawn LeVasseur Jr.
Great-grandchildren include Mason LeVasseur, Layla LeVasseur, Axel Orevitz, Mabel Orevitz, and two more on the way and lovingly anticipated; countless nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother-in-law Jerry Tevepaugh, his sisters Pauline McCullough and Beatrice Irene (Enis) Scanlon, and his brother Thomas (Enis) Ignacio.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 12 6th Street, Lowell, MA 01850. Following the Mass, a funeral procession will proceed to Saint Patrick Cemetery, 1251 Gorham Street, Lowell, MA 01852, where Bob will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Dianne.
Immediately after the Cemetery procession, a celebration of Bob’s life will take place. In honor of his love for New England sports, we invite friends and family to dress casually in any of HIS favorite New England team gear—Red Sox was his favorite, but he also cheered proudly for the New England Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins.
For celebration of life location details or to help us plan accordingly by bringing a dish, please reach out to one of Bob’s children to RSVP.
In every season of his life, Bob was a man who loved loyally, worked hard, and always tried to do right by his family. Like all of us, he faced struggles, but his heart was good, and he never stopped trying to live a meaningful life. In his later years, he stepped up in a remarkable way, fostering deep, lasting connections with his children and grandchildren, and doing all he could to ease the absence of his beloved Dianne. His presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those he loved so dearly.
