William F. Kearney III, 92, of The Villages, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 in LadyLake. 

 

William was born in Nanuet, NY, to William Francis Kearney, Jr. and Eugenia MargaretPolhemus on March 6, 1933. He attended Nyack High School and graduated from FairleighDickinson University. He honorably served his country in the Korean War and married DoloresLoretta Sandhage on July 11, 1954, at Saint Anthony’s Church in Nanuet, NY. They werehappily married for 71 years.

 

William worked as an Elevator Mechanic for Dover Elevator Company and then became aService Supervisor for Thyssenkrupp Elevator. He retired to the Villages in Florida in 1994 after40 years in the elevator industry. He enjoyed many years of golfing and going to the square inthe Villages.

 

William is survived by his devoted wife, Dolores; his children, Richard Kearney & wife Annmarieof Warwick, NY, and Diane Kearney of Haskell, NJ, sister Margaret Dreyer of Chalfont, PA, andbrother Robert Kearney of The Villages, FL; six Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren. Hewas preceded in death by his eldest son, William F. Kearney III of Casper, WY.William will be remembered for his unselfishness and good times with all his children andgrandchildren when they visited the Villages.

 

Memorial will be held at the Florida National VA Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Arrangements tobe provided.
