Paul Troy Morrison
July 22nd, 1954 - August 5th, 2025
Paul Troy Morrison, 71, husband of Lori Morrison, passed away on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 in Lexington, KY. He was born on July 22, 1954 in Sullivan, IN. To the late Carl Morrison and Lorena (Morrison) Fultz. He was a Registered Nurse for over 26 years at The University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in which he won numerous nursing awards including a Clinical Nurse Excellence Award. He was awarded an Honorable Kentucky Colonel Commission in the name of the Commonwealth by Governor Patton. Paul was a Volunteer Fireman in Menifee County, Kentucky. Before helping to save lives as a nurse, Paul was a Captain in the Commonwealth Prison System.
Paul never met a stranger. His personality was a light in the room, which completed his “it’s all about me” motto. He adored his two grandsons, Alexander and Asa where he was able to share his love of history and watch episodes of Sesame Street. He loves spending his time- including vacations with his many wonderful family members and friends. Friends that are truly members of an extended family. Paul was an avid UK basketball and football fan and loved tailgating at games and at The Shed. He also enjoyed traveling out of and around the country with his wife, especially the four cruises to the Panama Canal. Paul and his friends could be often found at the farm, where he would practice shooting targets and “the bull.”
Other than his wife Lori, he is survived by two daughters, Andrea (Clay) Back, Lexington, KY and Kristen (Kyle) Campbell, Carlisle, KY; two grandson, 1LT Alexander Back and Asa Campbell; two sisters, Kimberly (Neal) Briner, Orleans, IN and Robin Bowden, Bedford, IN; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Randall Morrison.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5pm - 7pm Friday, August 8, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to UK Markey Cancer Center Foundation, 115 Waller Ave. Suite 204, Lexington, KY 40503,
