Charles "Chuck" Leon Parkey
February 3rd, 1965 - August 2nd, 2025
Chuck Parkey, 60, lost his six-month fight against cancer on August 02, 2025, dying peacefully in his sleep at his home in Longmont, Colorado.
He was born to Linda Ward Parkey and Ellie Hugh Parkey in Orange, California. Chuck grew up spending most of his adult years in Orange County, CA. Chuck moved to Colorado in 2012 where, in 2017, he found his dream job as IT Manager for the Town of Erie. His coworkers recognized him as a great mentor who was thoughtful, kind and generous.
Chuck had a passion for baking and his coworkers were delighted to be treated to a wide selection of desserts straight out of “The Great British Baking Show”. His trip to England in 2024 was the highlight of that year. Chuck loved Disneyland, Star Wars, and Buc-ee’s!
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Ellie Hugh Parkey, and his paternal and maternal grandparents. He is survived by his mother Linda Moorhead, stepfather John, brother Joel Parkey, sister-in-law Lenora Parkey and nephew Luke Parkey. Chuck’s extended family includes many aunts, uncles and cousins in the Parkey, McNiece and Ward families—he will be missed by all.
A family memorial will be held at a later date. Cremation has been entrusted to Carroll-Lewellen Funeral & Cremation Services. Please share words of comfort, memories and expressions of sympathy with the family under the tributes section here on his obituary page.
