May 27th, 1944 - August 4th, 2025
Bob passed away on August 4th, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of 59 years, his 2 children - Dawn Marie Cannamela (John) of Waxhaw, NC and Robert IV (Sharon) of Ledyard, CT, and his 7 grandchildren, John J. Jr. Jacob N., Julianna M. and Joseph R. Cannamela, and Sarah E., Robert J. V and Grace E. Moynihan.
Bob spent 27 years on active duty in the United States Coast Guard from 1962 to 1989, retiring as a Lieutenant, under the Coast Guard's Warrant Officer to Lieutenant program. He was a Life Member and Worshipful Master of the Coast Guard Masonic Lodge, Semper Paratus #49, FAAM, Washington, DC in 1979 and a Life Member of the Valley of Ocala, AASR, where he was coroneted as a 33" Degree Mason on 9 November 2019. Bob was also a Life Member of the Villages Masonic Lodge, #394, FAM, a past Treasurer of that lodge from 2012 to 2017 and a Life Member of American Legion, Post #347, Lady Lake, Florida.
A celebration of life will be held at Hiers-Baxley Life Event Center in The Villages on Friday, August 15th, 2025, 10:00AM. Military honors will be given at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 12:30PM.
