Sharon Darlene Hunley

Sharon Darlene Hunley was born in Hoquiam, WA on Nov. 11, 1936 to John and Florence Hunley. She graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1954 and worked in her hometown for six years. In 1960, Sharon bravely struck out on her own and moved to Seattle to broaden her horizons and employment opportunities. She first worked for King County Medical, and then later had a career with the Federal Government, retiring in 1995. In 1961 Sharon became a lifelong member of Seattle First Baptist Church, where she became very involved in various activities and roles within the church. Upon retirement, she volunteered in the church office for several years. During this time, she also relocated from years of living in Seattle's Capitol Hill to the Hilltop House Senior Living Community on First Hill. She enjoyed 15 years there before needing to move to an Adult Family Home in Bellevue for more care in 2023. Sharon passed away on Aug, 5, 2025 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by both her parents. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Seattle First Baptist Church.
