Lucille E Skaggs
November 28th, 1932 - August 6th, 2025
Lucille E. Skaggs passed away on August 6, 2025 at the age of 92. She was born November 28, 1932 in Westminster, SC to Maebelle Watt Elrod and Louie Long Elrod.
Lucille spent most of her career at MUSC, and retired as Director of Finance for the Office of Diversity. She enjoyed her job very much. Known for her cooking skills, she was famous for her desserts, such as coconut cake, fruitcake and pralines, and loved being in her kitchen. She was a member of the Otranto Civic Club, and was in charge of their social parties for many years. The mountains and the beach were her favorite places to visit.
Lucille is survived by her children, Lamar Brabham (Beth), Janet Brabham(Lori) and Sharon Schwarz (Andrew). She was a loving grandmother to Scott Brabham, Drew Schwarz, Matthew Schwarz and Max Brabham. Also, a brother Louie G. Elrod (Billy) and sister-in-law Shirley B. Elrod. She was predeceased by her husband Quintus M. Brabham, Jr. and Ronald G. Skaggs, and her brother Robert M. Elrod.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church, 5931 Murray Drive, Hanahan, SC.A reception will follow the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request any donations be made to Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church or The Villages of Summerville, 201 W. 9th N Street, Summerville, SC 29483.
