Lindsey Cecil Wilson
October 24th, 1923 - December 30th, 2011
Lindsey Cecil Wilson, 88, of Gill, CO passed away December 30, 2011 at his home. He was born October 24, 1923 in Deepwater, MO to Alva and Zella (Cecil) Wilson. The family moved to Colorado when Lindsey was five years old. Lindsey served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater and was honorably discharged in January 1946. On September 15, 1950 he married Ruth Westervelt in Wheat Ridge, CO. Prior to his military service, Lindsey worked for Gates Rubber in Denver, CO. After he returned from the service he moved to Galeton, CO where he farmed and operated his own excavating business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and after retirement enjoyed traveling with family in his motor home. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, dad and Papa and as a kind and gentle well respected man. He was a member of Grace Community Bible Church. Lindsey is survived by his wife, Ruth Wilson of Gill, CO; daughter, Cynthia (Larry) Johnson of Windsor, CO; sons, Rodney Wilson of Eaton, CO and Robert Wilson of Gill; grandchildren, Angie (Eric) Davenport, Stacey (Andrew) Joseph; great grandchildren, Alyssa Johnson, Dylan Davenport, Jaden Joseph, and Jackson Joseph all of Fort Collins, CO; sisters, Mildred Slonksnes and Letha Crom of Greeley, Mary Ann Crossiant of Arvada, CO, Lorene (Chuck) Achziger of Loveland, CO; and sister-in-law, Giny Wilson of Lakewood, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and three brothers-in-law Services will include: Visitation 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Adamson Chapel. Interment at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Eaton Cemetery followed by Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. at Adamson Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Grace Community Bible Church” or "Hospice of Northern Colorado” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue Greeley, CO.
