**Obituary for Christy "CJ" Jo Brown**

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christy "CJ" Jo Brown, who departed this life on August 14, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida. Born on April 19, 1973, in Berlin, Vermont, Christy was a beacon of love and light to all who knew her.

Christy dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a registered nurse, where her generosity and compassion shone brightly. She was not only skilled in her profession but also committed to making every person she interacted with feel valued and cherished.

A beloved wife, Christy is survived by her devoted husband, Cliff Frates. She was a loving sister to Jocelyn, Jessie, Angela, and Karen. To the surviving children Melissa, Ryan, Aaron, and Lauren, she was a source of love and guidance.  Christy took immense joy in her role as a meemaw to her cherished grandchildren, Chloey, Riley, Camden, Gabby, Kashton, Arhianna, Nakyia, Kiyanna, Khalia, Oleson, and Isla, all of whom brought her pride and happiness.

Those who knew Christy will remember her vibrant spirit. She was generous, funny, and energetic—a true embodiment of joy. She had a passion for the simple pleasures in life, from spending time on the water (mimosas on board of course) to enjoying RV trips, and traveling with family and friends. Christy lived life to the fullest and inspired others to do the same.

Her family invites friends to join them for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 23, at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Melbourne, where they will gather to honor her memory and share fond stories of Christy’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to Christy's heart.

Christy “CJ” Jo Brown leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will remain in the hearts of many.  May she rest peacefully, knowing that her spirit will continue to inspire those she loved.
