Robert Frank Speer Sr. April 24,1932 †" July 5, 2021 Robert Frank Speer Sr, 89 of Denver Colorado passed away at home surrounded by his wife and children after a long battle with chronic health conditions. Robert Frank is survived by his wife of 64 years Laura Ann Speer and his 5 remaining children, Susan B (James) Marley, Catherine Elizabeth (Rick) Speer Gold, John Durban Speer, Glenn Matthew (Adrea Jiron) Speer and Paul Andrew (Angela) Speer. Robert Frank was preceded in death by 3 sons, Robert Frank Speer Jr. William David Speer Sr and Ray Wilson Speer II. Robert Frank leaves behind 31 amazing Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren, each of whom he loved and cherished. Robert Frank was born in Macon Georgia in 1932 the son of Ray Wilson Speer and Jessie Beatrice Speer. He had 5 siblings, Jack Donald Speer, Mami Beatrice Alsobrook, Ida Elizabeth Webb (Betty), Winston Eugene Speer and Jessie Ray Speer all of whom preceded him in death. Robert Frank was a Korean War Veteran having served in the US Army from January 26, 1953 to January 11, 1955. He shared many of his war stories with family, friends and even strangers. When Robert Frank returned from the war his sister Betty living in Chicago at the time convinced him to come visit and proceeded to set him up with her best friend Laura Esposito. Who could have ever known this would lead to one of the Greatest Love Stories of all time! Robert Frank arrived in Chicago and went on a date with Laura, had a wonderful time but left to go back to Colorado. Robert Frank would call and talk with her; he just could not get Laura out of his mind. Then one night Robert Frank was out on a date with another girl (Blonde) he pulled the car over and called Laura from a phone booth and asked her to Marry him! This shocked Laura as it was 3:00 AM in Chicago but it really shocked Robert Frank as the proposal came out before he even realized it, that†™s how crazy in love with Laura he was. Lucky for Robert Frank, Laura said yes. Laura†™s mom Susan was thrilled but Robert Frank had to sweat a little to get her dad Johns approval. Robert Frank and Laura were married March 7, 1957 at 1:45 AM at the home of Ray Wilson and Jessie B Speer in Denver Colorado. 9 months later the couple welcomed their 1st child Robert Frank Speer Jr. This was a wonderful surprise as Laura and Robert Frank were told by doctors, they would not be able to have children. But God knew what amazing parents Robert Frank and Laura would be and blessed them with 8 healthy beautiful and oftentimes challenging children. Soon after Robert Frank and Laura married Robert Frank became a Baptist preacher. Preaching the word of God and leading people to Christ was one of the most gratifying and humbling things he did as a man and servant of God. Robert Frank always worked hard to provide for Laura and their continually growing family. Whatever money Robert Frank made his Laura with her Golden touch, stretching every penny further than imaginable allowed them to purchase their 1st home and all homes they would buy over the years. Robert Frank always made sure Laura and his children had what they needed. Throughout his life Robert Frank had many friends, Neighbors, Church friends and Co-workers. He treasured each of these relationships and made sure everyone he cared for was certain of his love for them. Anyone who knew Robert Frank knew of his love for Old Cowboys! Robert Frank had a passion for the Lone Ranger, listening to the old radio shows, watching the TV series, and remastered DVD†™s. Robert Frank spent hundreds of hours with his cowboy collection of movies and enjoyed sharing many of the details of these shows/movies with family and friends! One of Robert Franks final wishes was to make certain everyone in his life had accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. He wanted no doubt everyone would be joining him in heaven. If you have not been saved as a final gift to yourself and Robert Frank, we ask that you bow your head and accept Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and Savior.
