Lillian Clara Butler

Lillian Clara Butler 93 March 25,1922 July 14, 2015 died of congestive heart failure at Markham House Retirement Community, Portland Oregon She was born in Bay City Michigan, the daughter of Karl and Amanda Lohrke. Her brothers Earl and Charles and their spouses preceded her in death. In 1944 she traveled alone by train to Seattle, Washington to marry Walter James (Jim) Butler. Lil was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church and a long time Summerfield resident. She enjoyed her many friends playing golf, bridge and dominoes, entertaining, gardening and traveling the world. After Jim’s death in 2007, she enjoyed the company of longtime family friend Everett Mitchell. Her survivors include Renee Carrington, Laura Knoll, Walter Butler and Margaret (Peggy) Harrison, their partner or spouse, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at noon Sunday September 27, 2015 at the Summerfield Clubhouse.
