Memorial

Long-time Greeley resident Wilma Hindman went to rest in the arms of her Lord on July 22, 2012, under hospice care at the Life Care Center of Greeley. The daughter of William and Amelia (Dupper) Flohr, Wilma was born in Encampment, WY, on March 12, 1924. Her family moved to La Salle, Colo., when Wilma was an infant. Wilma attended La Salle public schools. The Flohr family worked on farms around the Greeley area and moved to Greeley in 1935. In 1942 Wilma met Airman Otto Hindman in Bailey, Colo. Otto, stationed at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, was on leave visiting the mountain town where Wilma worked. Wilma and Otto married on July 24, 1945, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Greeley, where they remain members. Following their marriage, the couple lived briefly in Cripple Creek, Colo., returning to Greeley in 1947. Prior to their marriage, Wilma worked at the U.S. ammunitions plant in south Denver. She also worked two years at Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Wash. After their marriage, she was the second woman checker hired at the Greeley Safeway store. While their daughters, Doris and Patty were in elementary school, she worked in the School District 6 cafeteria program. Wilma, then, sold Avon for 32 years, retiring in 2002. Wilma is survived by her husband of 67 years, Otto Hindman; daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Artie Rohr of Gill, Colo. and Patty and John Jensen of Lake Powell, UT; granddaughters, Lisa Snelling of Lakewood, Colo., Elain Rohr of Wellington, Colo., Torri Marlatt of Overland Park, Kan., Julie Krull of Minden, Neb., Kerri Sue Waneka of Lakewood, Colo. and Tobbi Hansen of Minden, Neb.; and 11 great-grandchildren; brother Philip "Red” and sister-in-law Gerry Flohr of Elizabethtown, Penn. and sister, Ruthie Veden of Ephrata, Wash. and many nieces and nephews across the country. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews. Viewing will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Adamson Chapel and one hour prior to service at the church. A celebration of Wilma’s life held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1800 21st Avenue, Greeley, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wilma’s name to "Our Savior’s Lutheran Church” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
