George Edward Anders

George Edward Anders, 83, of Greeley died December 23, 2012 at Centennial Healthcare Center in Greeley. He was born April 17, 1929 in Chrisney, Indiana to Fred and Florence (Bennett) Anders. George grew up in Chrisney and attended Chrisney High School. He married Joanna Beck in Raton, NM on July 15, 1952. George enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1947 and retired after 21 years in 1969. After retiring from the Army George worked for and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration. George enjoyed gardening and loved his shelties. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #2601 in Longmont. George is survived by his wife, Joanna of Greeley; 2 sons, Dennis (Jacqueline) Anders of Panama City, FL and Rodger (Michele) Anders of Greeley; 3 grandchildren, Taylor Anders of Lincoln, NE, Kyle Bowers of Castle Rock, and Justin Anders of Panama City, FL; 3 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Fred Anders, and 3 sisters, Patricia Johnson, Anna Jensen, and Carolyn Murrey. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, William Anders and Harlan Anders, and 1 sister, Lucille Simpson. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be sent in George's name to "Weld County Honor Flight," in care of Adamson funeral and Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
