Honorio Martinez

Honorio Martinez, 69, of Greeley, CO died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Hospice of Northern Colorado. He was born on September 23, 1944 in Gueramaro, Guanajuato, Mexico to Genaro and Ruperta (Hernandez) Martinez. Honorio Martinez had lived in Greeley since 1983. After 22 years working for Swift Beef Plant, he retired in 2010 and enjoyed traveling, gardening, landscaping, and barbequing. He had a passion for living and spending time with family and friends. He was well known by the surrounding community by his Christmas decorations and frequently won the neighborhood contests. He was a diehard Denver Bronco fan. He is survived by two daughters, Rosalia Martinez and Noche Molina of Greeley; a son, Honorio Martinez Jr. of Ft Collins, CO; six nephews, Nicolas, Simeon, Rafael, Alfredo and Miguel Ortiz of Greeley and Salomon Martinez Jr. of Gilcrest; three nieces, Gloria Rocha and Marta Martinez of Greeley and Victoria Martinez of Gilcrest; and five grandchildren, Jacob, Addison, Antonia, Jeremiah and Emma all of Greeley. Preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and thirteen siblings all of Cueramaro, Mexico. Viewing 5-7pm Wednesday, December 18, 2013 and 8-10am Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Adamson Chapel, followed by graveside service 11:00am at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
