Robert Lawrence "Larry” Beard passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in Greeley. He was born on July 16, 1957 to Robert M. and Bettie La Rue (Baker) Beard. Larry grew up in Greeley and graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1975. He continued his education at the University of Northern Colorado and studied music and sociology. Larry enjoyed music and sports. You could often find him on a Sunday watching a football game with friends. He also spent time teaching his nephew and niece’s music and drawing. He is survived by his brothers and sister in-law, John and wife Carla (King) Beard, and Theodore "Ted” Beard, all of Greeley; nephew, Carl Edward King; and nieces, Elisabeth May Beard and Zoe La Rue Beard. He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents, O.T. and Catherine E Baker, also of Greeley. A memorial reception will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Adamson Reception Center, 2000 47th Avenue in Greeley. Inurnment will be in Linn Grove Cemetery.
