Mary Martinez

Mary Luisa Martinez, 79, of Evans, CO passed away June 17, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 12, 1934 in Windsor, CO to Vicente and Carmen (Trujillo) Jojola. Mary married Gus Martinez on September 21, 1953 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church where she continued to be a long time member. Mary was a homemaker who enjoyed flower gardens and gardening, crafts, and baking wedding cakes. She loved time spent taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by the love of her life and soul mate husband, Gus Martinez; children, Roxanne (Richard) Lara, Josie (Wayne) Humphreys, Betty Jean Martinez, Anthony (Amy) Martinez, Carmen Joyce Martinez, and Jeremy (Shae) Martinez; sister, Lupe Hernandez; brothers, Manuel Jojola, Arthur (Helen) Jojola, Raymond (Clara) Jojola and Casey Martinez; grandchildren, Michael, Jaki and Phillip Lara, Kendra (Brian) Mitchell and Erik Humphreys, Ashley and Ethan Martinez, Tyler, Shelby and Skyler Martinez, and Andrew and Jenna Hendershott; and great grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Aaliyah and Michael James Lara, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente and Carmen Jojola; sister, Angie Espinosa; brother, Reynaldo Jojola; and grandson, Richard Matthew Lara. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014 followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 5 p.m., both at Adamson Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will be at Linn Grove Cemetery.
