Sarah Jane ‘Sally’ Beardsley Parker, 86, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2014 at Hospice of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. She was born May 4, 1928 in Merna, NE to William ‘Bill’ and Thelma (Radcliffe) Beardsley. She graduated from Gothenburg High School with the class of 1945. She married Leslie Owings in Gothenburg, NE to this union three children were born Diane, Beverly and William ‘Bill’. On February 4, 1971 she married Millard Parker. She resided in Gothenburg until 2001 when she moved to Greeley to be with her daughters and families. She worked at WJ O’Connor for many years in Gothenburg, Monroe Tenneco in Cozad, and after retiring from there, went to work for Daylight Donuts in Gothenburg, where she never knew a stranger. She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Gayman, and Beverly (Greg) Speaker both of Greeley; daughter in law, Sherry (Fred) Owings-Mason of Cedar Bluffs, NE; six grand children, Stephanie (Nathan) Campbell, Scott (Sherrie) Gayman both of Greeley, Ashley (Andy) Frye of Ashland, NE, Misty (Eric) Filows of Ft. Calhoun, NE, Christopher (Courtney) Deckman, and Nickolas Deckman both of Greeley; eight great grandchildren, Corbin and Caden Campbell, Morgan Gayman all of Greeley, Abby, Allison and Ava Frye all of Ashland, Lelah and William Filows both of Ft. Calhoun; one brother, Fred (Donna) Beardsley of North Platte, NE; one sister-in-law, Kay Beardsley of Sterling, CO; many nieces and nephews along with other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Leslie Owings and Millard Parker; her son, William ‘Bill’ Owings; her brothers and sister in laws, Bernard and Esther Beardsley, William Maurice and Lavonia Beardsley and Lee ‘Bear’ Beardsley; her sister and brother in law, Winona and Louis Sedlacek. An inurnment service will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, 12004 South Spur 56A, Maxwell, NE 69151. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to "Hospice of Northern Colorado” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
