Lois Marie Miller

Lois Marie Haas Miller, 85, of Greeley passed from this life September 13, 2014 at Kenton Manor in Greeley, Colorado. She was born June 17, 1929 to Kenneth William and Elva Francis (Bowie) Shaw in Elm Creek, Nebraska. Lois grew up in Elm Creek and moved to Greeley in 1944 where she graduated from Greeley High School in 1947. On July 25, 1948 she married William R. Haas in Windsor, Colorado. He passed on September 25, 1992. She married John "Lyle” Miller on February 28, 1999. He passed on August 26, 2004. Lois was a great homemaker and cook, and enjoyed bowling, dutch hops, watching the Broncos, and spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her years at the Broadview apartments with the many activities and friends. Lois was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Windsor. She is survived by her daughters, Diane Dillard and husband, Bob of Greeley, Connie Winder and husband, Dale of Windsor, and Billie Gomer and husband, Gary of Windsor; eight grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; thirteen great great-grandchildren; brother, James Shaw and wife, Barb of Eaton, CO; and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Joni Kay Haas; and two brothers, Charles and Dean Shaw. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at First Assembly of God, 3000 16th Street in Greeley.
