Daniel G. Bauer (Dan) 87, of rural Eaton died at his home on Sunday, October 12,2014 of natural causes. At his request, Dan's body was donated to medical science through University Hospital. He was born on June 23, 1927 to Martin and Anna (Bauder) in Bethune, CO. He graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, CO. Dan married Katherine Ann Scherrer on October 7, 1950 in Stratton, CO. To this union seven children were born. Dan is survived by his wife, Katherine Bauer, of the home, his brother; Walter(Phyllis) Bauer of MT, sister-in-law; Agnes Puga(Hank) of Littleton, CO, brother-in-law; Joseph Scherrer of NY, his sons; Richard Sr.(Shirley) of Greeley, Russell of Denver, and Stanley(Rene)of Layton, UT, his daughters; Theresa Bauer, Manzanola, CO, Margaret Hockersmith, Camdenton MO, Tricia Arnold(Adrian) of Kansas City, KS, Jeanette Bauer of Eaton. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends who will mourn his loss. Dan is preceded in death by his parents; his sister; Evelyn and husband, Bud Billenwillms, one grandson; Brent Hockersmith, four brothers-in-law; Alex, Robert, Albert, and Philip Scherrer, one sister-in-law; Regina Whipple. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to the Weld Food Bank in Dan's name in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
