Dorothy McDonald Simonsen

Simonsen, Dorothy 81 Aug. 23, 1932 Dec. 04, 2013 Dorothy McDonald Simonsen, 81, passed away from cancer in her home in King City on Dec. 4, 2013, with family present. She was born on Aug. 23, 1932, in Vernonia, and also lived in Portland, Grants Pass, Tigard and King City. She worked as a nurse from 1951 until retiring in 1997, filling almost every nursing position imaginable. Her favorite was emergency room nurse. She loved playing golf, gardening and arranging her flowers. Survivors include her sons, Randy of Milwaukie, Rod of Beaverton and Rory of Tigard; and daughter, Vicki Kitchens of Tualatin. Dor- othy was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; and sons, Richard and Russ. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at St. Anthony's Church, 9905 S.W. McKenzie St., Tigard, OR 97223. A private interment will be at a later date in Willamette National Cemetery.
