Mollie Schmidt

Mollie Schmidt, 98, of LaSalle Co, passed away April 2, 2015 at Sierra Vista Health Care in Loveland CO. She was born March 16, 1917 in Gering, NE to Henry and Anna Marie (Heinbuck) Haverick. She married Frank Schmidt December 15, 1935 in Harrisburg, NE. Mollie was a member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church for many years. She retired from UNC where she worked in the bakery. She spent most of her retirement crocheting and embroidering items for her family and friends. Mollie enjoyed baking and spent numerous years, making noodles and butter balls for the annual St. Paul’s bake sale. Making krautburgers, fried chicken and many German dishes were her specialty. Mollie loved being with her family and friends, and to know her was to love her. Mollie is survived by her son, Frank (Marcy) Schmidt of Loveland; daughter-in-law, Lynne Schmidt of Boulder, CO; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; sons, Marvin and Bob, and infant daughter, Shirley. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, followed by funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, 1525 43rd Avenue, Greeley, Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
