Pearl Coates
October 29th, 1928 - July 5th, 2015
Pearl Coates, 86, was born October 29, 1928 in Shamrock, TX to Cotton and Eloise Haws. She had 8 brothers and sisters whom she loved dearly her entire life. When she was eighteen, she married her handsome WWII veteran Buddy Coates, and together, they had their one and only daughter Cheryl. Pearl was always a person with vision and spunk. She was bold, confident and a risk taker for sure. In 1958 Pearl and Buddy and Pearl's brother Dexter embarked on a "coin-operated" Laundromat business. They pioneered Laundromats from Dalhart, TX, to Sterling, CO. Although she never graduated high school, she had a hunger for learning and a drive to better her. She was an avid reader, but the Bible was always her favorite book. Those who knew her would tell you, her door was always open, your tea glass would always be full, and her broad shoulders were always there to listen, sympathize, and give council. She was a born leader, a wonderful teacher, amazing cook, seamstress, and gardener. She firmly believed in hard work, but insisted on resting on the 7th day. Pearl loved Jesus her whole life. On July 5th, 2015, she celebrated her very own Independence Day. She ran straight in to the arms of Jesus, and experience true freedom, unspeakable peace and his perfect love. She is survived by her precious daughter, Cheryl (Richard) Lauer; two grandchildren, Stacie (Dale) Hartwig, and Josh (Rachel) Lauer; beloved great grandchildren, Libby, Victoria, Abby, Ellie, Shiloh and Tru; sisters, Velda (Carl) Young, and Sharon Trainer; brothers, Lawrence Haw, Dexter (Beverly) Haws; brother in law, Bud Disney; and numerous nieces and nephews, many of whom enjoyed summer visits with Aunt Pearl. She is having a glorious reunion with her sweet Buddy, her parents and sister and brothers. So long Pearl....We will see you again! A celebration of Pearl’s life will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday July 16, 2015 at Greeley First Church of the Nazarene, 2515 West 16th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. Condolences may be shared with the family at adamsonchapels.com
