Richard "Dick” Specht, 80, of Greeley, CO passed away July 30, 2015 in Greeley, CO Dick Specht was born December 4, 1934 at home in Gilcrest, CO to George and Lydia (Meyer) Specht. The family moved to Fort Collins, CO where Dick attended school until the 10th grade. He quit school to help provide for his family following the passing of his father. While working at Woolworth’s as a stock boy, he met his future wife Darlene Becker who worked at the candy counter. They were married one year later on January 30, 1954 and lived in Fort Collins. Their son Michael was born January 9, 1957. In January 1959, the family moved to Greeley for Dick’s new job at Rainbo Bread Company. His second son, Rick was born February 5, 1961. While his sons were growing up, Dick was very active in their motocross racing. Working on their bikes, practicing after work, and driving them to races around the state on weekends. He also enjoyed fishing with his sons and father in law, small game hunting, bowling, working around the house and in the yard. Dick retired from Rainbo Bread Company after 38 years due to his rheumatoid arthritis. After retirement, Dick enjoyed spending time with his family. Dick is survived by his wife of 61 years Darlene; sons Michael (Ann) of Cheyenne WY; Rick (Suzanne) of La Salle CO; five grandchildren Melissa (Ed) Kelly Virginia Beach, VA; Rebecca Specht Nashville, TN; Jessica (David) Weir Portsmouth RI; Chad(Melissa) Specht Kailua HI; and Tyler Specht La Salle Co. three great grand children Cody and Cheyann Weir and Harper Kelly. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Memorial Service 3:00p.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at Adamson Reception Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Weld County Humane Society” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634
