Vernon Euler Spaulding
October 21st, 1934 - April 28th, 2008
Vernon E. Spaulding II died on April 28th, 2008 at 4:15 am of renal failure. Mr. Spaulding was born in Indianapolis, IN on October, 21st 1934 to Vernon and Mary-Alice (Kelso) Spaulding. He grew up in Crawfordsville, IN graduating from high school in 1952 and then from the University of Cincinnati in 1957. While attending U of C he became a devoted Sigma Chi member. Mr. Spaulding entered the military draft, where he was stationed in Hawaii and remained there for 27 years as an entrepreneur practicing commercial interior design. Mr. Spaulding has remained an active alumnus with Sigma Chi Fraternity in Honolulu, San Francisco, and the East Bay of San Francisco. While living in Hawaii Vernon married Nancy Hagen of Princeton, NJ. Their successful marriage of 46 years blessed them with two boys: Lance and Peter. The family moved to the East Bay San Francisco area in 1983 till 1989 and then moved to Pebble Beach, CA for eight years. In 1995 Mrs. Spaulding accepted the position as director of admissions with Pine Manor College in Boston, MA. She remained in the position for 3 years before they made the decision to move back to the Bay Area. They remained in the Bay Area for another 4 years while they decided where to retire. Their search ended when they found a beautiful home in Windsor, Colorado. They moved into their existing home on July, 4th 2003. Surviving are wife, Nancy of Windsor, CO., elder son Lance and wife Jennifer of Marine County, California and son Peter of Flint Hill, VA. Vernon E. Spaulding II has chosen to be cremated and his ashes will be scattered across a special bamboo forest in Hawaii. To all of those that I have known I want to thank you for your friendships, love and support; I wish you all the best. Aloha.
