Shawn L. Sitzman

Shawn Sitzman, 44, of Greeley, CO passed away November 20, 2015. He was born August 17, 1971 in Denver, CO to Warren and Mary Sitzman. Shawn attended Greeley Central High School. He worked in construction until he found his love in the United States Navy. He retired from the Navy in 2003 and worked for the U.S. Post Office until his diabetic condition no longer allowed him to work. Shawn loved hanging out with his brother, Joshua and taking his service dog, Athena fishing. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Denver Broncos, singing and drawing. Shawn grew up as a member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church where he was confirmed and attended until his passing. He is survived by his parents, Warren and Mary Sitzman; sisters, Christine (Dane) Mayhugh of Greeley, Sarah Popovich of Littleton, CO, Jennifer (Dean) Schott of Greeley; niece and nephew, Makayla and Kenneth "KJ” Schott of Greeley; and numerous aunts; uncles; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joshua. Service will include viewing from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. followed by funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at St. Paul’s Congregational Church 1525 43rd Avenue, Greeley. Interment will be in Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Staging Area "B”.
