Jimmy Lee Hunt
August 26th, 1941 - December 18th, 2015
Jimmy Lee Hunt, 74, of Loveland, CO passed away on December 18, 2015 at Seven Lakes Memory Care in Loveland, CO. He was born August 26, 1941 in Alliance, NE to Lawrence and Esther (Moore) Hunt. Jim grew up in Montrose, CO area and graduated from Montrose High School. He met his wife Lynda Hoffman while she was out to eat a steak that he helped himself to. They married on June 18, 1970 in Sioux Falls, SD. Their first home was in Montrose. Over the next 20 years Lynda and Jim moved frequently following Jim’s career with the Bureau of Reclamation, Forest Service, and then Western Area Power Association. Before settling in Loveland, Colorado Jim lived in Grants Pass and Hillsborough, Oregon; Phoenix, Arizona; as well as Buena Vista and Pueblo, Colorado. Jim could fix anything from outlets and switches to full kitchen remodels. He had a passion for old cars and would fix them up and show them when he was younger. He loved his daughters and grandkids and would take them on train rides, to amusement parks, and was expert at cuddling tired babies and kissing skinned knees. Jim is survived by his daughters, Erin (Lazlo) Hunt of Estes Park, CO, and Amy (Ed) Hunt-Fruin of Minneapolis, MN; and grandchildren, Riley Hunt, Teagan Hunt, and Lily Hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lynda. A service to celebrate Jim’s life will be on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634. Inurnment will be in Linn Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s name to The Rocky Mountain Conservancy in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
