Willie "Frank" Griffin

Willie “Frank” Griffin Willie Frank Griffin went to be with the Lord February 15, 2023. The day before, he and his wife Joise celebrated Valentines Day together. Frank was born July 13,1937 in Clay County Alabama to Abbie Lee and Benjamin Franklin Griffin. He grew up in Clay County and graduated from Newsite High School. After graduating with high honors Frank enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served for 5 years upon which he was educated in System and Electrically Engineering. While in the military he met Edith Josephine Valdez in Denver Colorado and they married December 24, 1958. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Frank worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In 1974 he and Josie moved to Longmont Colorado where he worked for the FAA for 30 years. Frank was musically talented and enjoyed playing both the guitar and banjo and on occasion played in with Bluegrass pick-up bands. He was also a sports enthusiast and he loved baseball and playing golf, but most importantly, was his attendance at his daughter and two granddaughter’s sporting events. Frank is preceded in death by his parents and 5 bothers and survived by his wife Josie Griffin, daughter Tara Jewell, two grandchildren Mari Jewell, Brooke Jewell and 2 brothers and a sister.
