Larry Frank Mathena
May 31st, 1945 - March 8th, 2024
Larry F. Mathena went home peacefully to his Lord and Savior on March 8, 2024 at the age of 78. Larry was a loving husband, dad, brother, grandfather, and friend adored and respected by many. Larry was born in Sherman, Texas in May 1945. He and his family moved to Colorado at a young age, most of it spend in the Fort Collins area.
Larry and his wife, Carol, were married for 56 wonderful years. Larry was an Army veteran and a first-generation graduate of Anthropology at Colorado State University. He enjoyed his career in sales, and especially enjoyed managing his pawn shop. He had a vast knowledge of guns and anything outdoors. Larry greatly enjoyed camping and fishing which he passed on his love of this to his daughter and grandson. He was an avid bird watcher and loved growing a variety of roses. Larry also had a love of photography and produced beautiful pictures of nature. He also loved his volunteer time with Nightwalker, an organization that assisted Native Americans. Larry was a man who loved his God and read his bible every day. He deeply loved his family, the outdoors, NASCAR, and his pets. He was a very generous sole with a kind heart.
