Born James Harvey Adams, March 16, 1945 in Portland Oregon. Death January 14, 2024 Oregon City from health issues. A "Celebration of Life" will be at Foothills Community Church Saturday 3/16/2024 at 11 AM. Address: 122 Grange Ave,, Molalla, 97038. Officiated by Pastor Dale Satrum. Parents: Earl Henry Adams and Bessie Irene Adams. Siblings: He was raised with two older brothers and a younger sister in the Southeast side of Portland. Delbert Douglas Winnery (1931) a half Brother. Allan Russell Adams (1943), Earlene Jo Adams (1946). Only Alan currently alive. Children: Sons Daniel Adams born November 21, 1973. Matthew Adams born January 6, 1978. Both live in Portland. He attended Woodmere Elementary School and two years at Ben Franklin High School (1960-1961) before transferring to the new John Marshall High School for his last two years (1962-1963). Graduated with class1963 from Marshall High School. After high school he moved to St. Helens for a job at a saw mill. Jim also worked security jobs in Portland. This led to him meeting Elvis Presley and other memorable stars. Jim worked for Connestoga in Hubbard which built camp trailers. Jim married Janice Marie Briggs October 16th, 1971 at Sunnyside Community Church. Jan (Born October 15,1938 Portland, OR, Died July 23, 2016 in Molalla) Pastor Brian officiated her memorial. Now at (Adams Cemetery). In 1974 he moved to Molalla, buying a home on Stowers St. and started a new job in the lumber mill industries. Jim’s next job was working for Molalla River School District. 1978 – 2007 Elementary and High schools janitorial. He Loved his job as janitor at the Molalla Primary school. He was later transferred to the High school. Jim worked at Molalla High school until 2007 when he broke his leg while working at the high school…which forced his retirement. Over these same years Jim kept busy raising 2 sons…Danny and Matt, while also mowing lawns for much of the town of Molalla. He worked at Fred’s Food Mart. He also helped with janitorial services at Molalla Nazarene church, which he attended with his family for many years before attending Foothills Community church. Jim has lived in Gladstone the last 2 years at Somerset Senior independent living community. AWARDS: Molalla River School District Award: September 2000 for 22 years of service to the children of our community. September 2003 for 25 years of service to the children of our community. He served another 4 years until 2007. A total of 29 years for the Molalla school district. Diploma from the United States Jaycees SE Metro Portland. Successfully completed Leadership in Action a personal development course for Jaycees January 22, 1972. SURVIVED BY: Sons: Daniel Adams born November 21, 1973. Dan moved to Portland in 2009. Matthew Adams born January 6, 1978. Matt moved to Portland in 2005. Brother: Alan Adams currently lives in SE Portland. JIM’S INTERESTS: Jim Loved putting together Old Classic Model cars as a hobby. He loved going to car shows. WW wrestling and enjoyed the live wrestling events. Monster truck shows and Molalla Buckeroo rodeo and parade. He loved remote control cars. Action movies. He was very knowledgeable on sports athletes such as basketball, baseball, and football players and their statistics.
