Lester C. Weber
March 6th, 1927 - February 26th, 2013
Lester “Les” C. Weber, Jr., PhD, a resident of Tigard, died peacefully on February 26th at age 85. Les was born in Saint Joseph, Missouri to Lester Senior and Martha Weber. He moved to Eugene, Oregon when he was 15, with his mother and two older brothers, Lewis William and John Henry. Les joined the Navy in 1945, and served in WWII and later in the Korean War. Les graduated from University of Oregon with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. He earned a PhD in Education from Nova University. Les taught at Lake Oswego High School, and later helped start Vocational Village, an alternative high school in Portland. He is survived by his wife Betty and three of his four children, Lester C. Weber lll, Joan E. Newman, and John C. Weber, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Robin A. Weber. Les was a garage sales enthusiast. He was a believer in helping the less fortunate and encouraging everyone to get an education. He was a kind giving person. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for family and close friends. Arrangements by Autumn Funerals, Cremation & Burial, Tigard, Oregon.
