reated on Wednesday, 31 May 2017 | Written by John Baker | September 19, 1938 to May 22, 2017 - An avid sports fan who was always on the go. Dennis Franklin Fuller, 78, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, in his home in Canby, Oregon. Born in East Ely, Nevada, on September 29, 1938, Dennis moved to Oregon as a young child. He graduated from Canby High School in 1956 and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962 where he was trained to work with some of the earliest computers. He married Esther Pearson, with whom he had two children, in 1964. Dennis graduated from Portland State University with a Political Science Bachelor's Degree in 1970 and had a successful career as a computer systems analyst for First Interstate Bank in Portland, Oregon, and computer security specialist for Boeing in Renton, Washington. He was particularly pleased to be part of the Boeing teams developing new, high-tech military airplanes. After retiring in 2002, Dennis thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years. His home base was Canby, but he was always on the go. An avid sports fan his entire life, he supported numerous teams and athletes, particularly at Oregon State University and Canby High School, and journeyed around the country rooting them on with immense enthusiasm. Dennis delighted in other travel adventures too and treasured opportunities to be part of special moments and events with family and friends. He was a voracious reader and movie watcher (spy and military history being his favorite subjects) and loved to collect stamps. Dennis was a proud member of the OSU Alumni Association and American Legion and contributed to many charities. He is survived by his daughter Laurie (Jay) Spillum of Canby; son Michael (Erin) Fuller of Eugene; grandchildren Zach, Madison, Wendy, and Katie; sister Linda (Dave) Hedges of Milwaukie; sister Glenda (Ron) of College Place, WA; and companion of 44 years Lillie Brooks of Portland. Dennis will also be forever remembered by his extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Henry Witt and brother Marcus Fuller. His life will be honored and celebrated at an open house at his daughter's home in Canby on May 28th; he will be given a military honors burial at Zion Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in memory of Dennis may be made to the OSU Foundation Wrestling Program Endowment Fund (850 SW 35th St. Corvallis, Oregon 97333).Dennis was born on September 29, 1938, in East Ely, Nevada, to Ira ad Mary(Dennis) Fuller.
