John, Charles “X” Feuerstein, formerly of Aberdeen, passed away on September 24th, 2012, in Portland, Oregon. He was born May 17, 1949 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Chic and Florence (Manfredo) Feuerstein and moved to Aberdeen in 1959. John attended St Mary’s School, Weatherwax High School (1967 graduate) and Seattle University (1971 graduate). He married Cheryl Wall in July of 1972 in Woodland Wa and they established their home in Portland. John was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, traveling, woodworking and golfing, and coaching football and baseball. He was actively involved in the PortVan Hunt Club, the Associated Liquor Stores of Oregon, Beaverton Youth Football and the Raleigh Hills Little League. His career in retail included JC Penney Co., owning and operating Home Quarters, five retail gift stores in the Portland area, and most recently owner/manager of Eastport Liquor. John is survived by his wife Cheryl of 40 years, his son Joseph, brothers Gary (Terrie) and Rob (Carol) and sister Mary Jo McCann (Terry), Debbie and Jerry Deans, Jeff and Karen Wall, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at St Cecelia Parish, 5105 SW Franklin, Beaverton, OR at 10AM on Friday, September 28th. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made to Beaverton High School Athletic Department or American Heart Association.
