Noel Andrew Jordan
January 4th, 1935 - March 8th, 2012
Noel was born in Portland, and passed away in Tigard. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1953 and received a BA in English from Lewis & Clark in 1957. He later went on to receive a Master’s Degree in English, also from Lewis & Clark. Noel was an English teacher in the Oregon City School District until he retired in 1993. His passion for helping students continued through tutoring long after he retired. Noel was a connoisseur of art and antiques and enjoyed traveling all over the world with his friends. He loved dachshunds and had a lifelong devotion to his pets. Noel also helped others through his volunteering. He volunteered for William Temple House, The Oregon Symphony, POVA, the Japanese Gardens, and the Cascade AIDS Project. Noel is survived by his sister, Lisa Panosian of Burbank, CA. Per Noel’s request there will be no services. A private gathering for friends will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Portland Art Museum, 1219 SW Park Ave., Portland, 97205. Arrangements by Autumn Funerals, Cremation & Burial.
