Celebration of Life Date: April 2, 2017 Location: The Smile Station 8210 SE 13th Ave Portland, Oregon 97202 Robert James Buchanan Born in Presque Isle, ME on Jul. 23, 1947 Bob departed peacefully with his family around him on Dec. 31, 2016 and resided in Lake Oswego, OR Robert James Buchanan 1947-2016 Bob was born in Presque Isle, Maine, where he grew up as a hard working farm boy. He served in the Army where he met the love of his life, Susan Buchanan. While in the Army he served one tour in Vietnam and he also served in the Air National Guard. Bob moved to Portland Oregon with Susie where he pursued his career as a Radiology Technician and started their lives raising their 2 sons, Terry and Larry. Bob loved to challenge himself, try new things and learn new life skills. Because of this, he pursued many passions and interests. His first and last passion was being a Radiology Technician. He had accomplished everything from owning a flower and gift shop with Susie, being a master gardener and owning his own landscape service, working as a CNA, attending culinary school and owning a catering business, and serving his community as a Portland Royal Rosarian. He is survived by his wife Susie, sons Larry and Terry, daughter-in laws, Susan and Teresa, grandchildren Teryn and Tyler, sisters, Debbie, Laurie, and Lisa, brother, Mark, and mother, Maxine. Bob loved his dogs and kitties, so in lieu of flowers, donations may go to any animal shelter of your choice. He was also an advocate for the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, so donations would be much appreciated there as well. In keeping with the man Bob was when he was healthy, someone who loved to entertain and enjoy a good party, the “Sugar Shack” theme party will be part of the celebration of his life. This celebration of life party will be held April 2, 2017 at the Smile Station in Sellwood, Oregon from 2 pm – 5 pm. Families and friends are all invited to attend.
