Kevin Talbott Graham

Obituary Kevin Talbot Graham, age 44, Born October 20, 1977, San Jose, CA to Dennis and Kathleen Graham. Kevin attended Amador High School, class of 1996. After High School, Kevin resided in the San Francisco Bay Area working in food and beverage management and becoming quite a masterful cook. He moved on to more lasting creations in carpentry, remodeling and then building a new home for his grandmother, alongside his father Dennis. At age 29 Kevin joined the US Army in 2006 in honor of his late grandfather, Lt Col. William Talbott. He became a Combat Engineer and served two combat tours, one in Iraq and a second in Afghanistan. As was his nature, he strove for success and found it using his wit, speed, and intensity to outperform while still lifting up his, often younger, fellow soldiers. In 2010 Kevin became one of the older soldiers to graduate Sapper School and he continued to move up the ranks in his 15-year military career, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant in 2021. He served in five duty assignments during his career. His first assignment was in Smith Barracks, GM from 2006 - 2012 where he served in 40th EN BN, Task Force 1-6 IN. His second assignment he served in Fort Irwin, CA from 2012-2016 in the 58th Engineer Company, 2/11 ACR. His third assignment was in Fort McCoy, WI from 2016 2019 under 1st BN, 310th IN. His fourth assignment he served in Camp Humphreys, Korea from 2019 2020 under 11th EN BN, 2ID. His fifth assignment he served in Fort Carson, CO from 2020-2021 in the 4th EN BN where he held the 3rd Platoon Sergeant position in the 576th Clearance Company. MSG Grahams training and educational levels include all noncommissioned officer professional development courses through Senior Leader Course. Additionally has attended and graduated Sapper Leader Course. MSG Grahams awards include the Meritorious Service Award, Army Commendation Medal (seventh award), Army Achievement Medal (fourth award), Valorous Unit Award, Navy Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Good Conduct Medal (fifth award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (two bronze stars), Iraqi Campaign Medal (two bronze stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (third award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (fourth award), NATO Medal, Sapper tab, and Drivers Badge. He is also the recipient of the Steel and Bronze De Fleury Medals from the Army Engineer Association. Kevin married his soulmate, Sally in 2006. Their two beautiful children were born a few years later. Azure arrived during his second tour in 2011 and Eden showed up in 2013 too fast to make it to the hospital, but Kevin got to tie her umbilical cord with his bootlaces. For the next several years he snuggled and played with those kids as often as he could and as Eden said, he gave the best hugs. Kevin was an adoring husband and a loving father. He was an avid golfer and had a passion for music. He continued with his penchant for cooking, creating often extravagant, always delicious meals for family and friends. One cant forget to mention his obsession with his Mini Cooper "Bella" that he deemed "unbeatable", loved only slightly less than the people in his life. Charming, endearing, caring and humorous he attracted flocks of friends throughout his lifetime and will be missed by so many. Kevin is survived by his wife, Sally Graham; son, Azure Poseidon Graham; daughter, Eden Persephone Graham; father, Dennis Graham; mother, Kathleen Graham; brother, Jason Graham; sister, Jodi Mauck; brother-in-law, Randy Mauck; nephews, Kieden Graham and Miles Mauck.
