Marilyn Joanne Meade

Obituary Joanne Meade (Marilyn Joanne Meade), age 86, passed away in Colorado Springs, Colorado on March 28, 2017. Joanne was born in Marion, Indiana on March 25, 1931 to Floyd C. Ruch and Genevieve Strange-Ruch. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, James P. Ruch of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jean Blinn, Jr. of Van Buren, Indiana. Joanne attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and married Robert D. Cravens in November of 1950. She leaves behind six children; daughter, Suzanne L. Russell and husband, James N. Russell (Bridgeman, Michigan) with their children, Melissa Owen, Nicole Long, James Russell, and William Russell; son, William A. Cravens and wife, Janet L. Cravens (Westville, Indiana) with their children, Elizabeth Cravens, Elaine Taylor, and Emily Cravens; daughter, Lucinda (Cindy) A. Patton and husband, Daniel L. Patton (Nebraska City, Nebraska) with their children, Aaron Patton, and Alex Patton; son, Mark J. Cravens (Colorado Springs, Colorado) with his children, Chloe Johnson, Samantha Garey, and Taylor Cravens; son, Timothy A. Cravens (Colorado Springs, Colorado); and daughter, Constance (Connie) J. Wesson and husband, Dan Wesson (Milledgeville, Georgia) with their children, Hunter Wesson, and Grey Wesson. Joanne also has seven great-grandchildren: Sierra Owen, Jacob Long, James Long, Lily Russell, Titus Patton, Silas Patton, and Anastacia Patton. Joanne grew up in Indiana and lived for many years in Michigan before moving to Nebraska City in 1977. While living in Nebraska City, she worked for Morton-House Kitchens, Bishops Plumbing and Heating, Babe's Caf, The Antique Mall, and Larson Motors before moving to Colorado Springs to live with her son, Tim Cravens. She loved taking care of her flowers and plants, cooking for her family, and keeping in touch with her many friends in Nebraska City. Joanne was a faithful member of St Benedict's Church before relocating to Colorado. Funeral service and inurnment will take place in Colorado Springs.
